The Goodfriend Group Welcomes U.S. House Small Business Committee Counsel Meagan Sunn

The Goodfriend Group, a Washington D.C. public policy and lobbying firm specializing in technology, telecommunications and media policy, announced today that Meagan Sunn would be joining the firm as Senior Director and Counsel, Public Policy and Government Affairs.

Ms. Sunn was most recently the Technology and Telecommunications Counsel to Chairwoman Nydia Velázquez and the majority staff of the U.S. House Committee on Small Business. Before working on Capitol Hill, Ms. Sunn served as Counsel at the Universal Service Administrative Co., advising the High Cost program staff on legal matters concerning the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Connect America Fund and legacy programs. 

During her tenure on the Small Business Committee staff, Ms. Sunn managed a portfolio that included oversight of the $2.5 billion Small Business Innovation Research grant program, also known as America’s Seed Fund, as well as the committee’s interests in rural broadband, online platform competition, cybersecurity, privacy, and inclusive innovation.

Ms. Sunn was also elected to the board of the Congressional Tech Staffer Association; selected as Co-Chair of the Women in Government Relations’ Tech, Telecom, IP Taskforce; and currently serves on the board of the Catholic University of America, Law and Technology Institute Alumni Association. In law school at Catholic University, Ms. Sunn served as a law clerk to former FCC Chairwoman and Commissioner Mignon L. Clyburn; the FCC Wireline Competition Bureau; CTIA; Comcast NBCUniversal; the Multicultural Media, Telecommunications and Internet Council; the NAACP, and VMware.
